Inside Clinics in Sports Medicine, July 2013 - "MRI in Sports Medicine" | Guest Edited by Timothy G. Sanders, MD

Clinics in Sports Medicine July Cover

TIMOTHY G. SANDERS, MD, NationalRad Medical Director and Musculoskeletal Radiologist and Assistant Professor of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, guest edited the current issue of Clinics in Sports Medicine, "MRI in Sports Medicine". The issue, which was published in July, concentrates on the MRI-arthroscopic / surgical correlation of sports medicine injuries. As guest editor, Dr. Sanders chose the content for the issue, recruited authors for each chapter from experts in the field and edited each article for accuracy of content. Read a piece of his preface here:

"In 2006 I was given the opportunity to guest edit two volumes in The Clinics in Sports Medicine dealing with imaging of the upper and lower extremities in sports-related injuries. Those articles were authored solely by radiologists and dealt primarily with the use of advanced imaging modalities in the evaluation of the inured athlete. Once again, I have been given the honor of guest editing a volume on imaging of injured athlete. In this updated issue however we have taken a different approach. Each chapter is coauthored by a radiologist and a sports medicine clinician who are experts in their respective areas of sports medicine. The focus of this issue is to correlate advanced imaging findings with surgical and arthroscopic findings in an attempt to foster better communication and a greater understanding between the medical imager and the clinician who care for the injured athlete..."
