  Payment Options

In order to start your second opinion case, we require you to pay for your second opinion in full and in advance through our secure ImageShare system. We accept most major credit / debit cards.

We do not accept or bill health insurance for second opinions. However, you may check with your health insurance company to see if your NationalRad radiology second opinion is eligible for reimbursement. Please save your NationalRad receipt and follow your health insurance company’s instructions to submit your reimbursement claim.

If you have a health savings account (HSA), you may be able to pay for your second opinion with your HSA debit card or submit a reimbursement claim for your second opinion. You will first need to check with your HSA plan to ensure a diagnostic radiology second opinion is considered to be a qualified medical expense.

  Refunds

NationalRad only issues refunds for second opinions under the following conditions:

  • Your diagnostic imaging study is not one that our radiologists read, such as x-ray, ultrasound or investigational (non-FDA approved) study.
  • Your case is not one that our radiologists specialize in, such as mammography.
  • You are not able to provide all of the supporting documentation our radiologists need to provide you with an accurate second opinion, such as your original radiology report.
  • Your diagnostic imaging study cannot be read or interpreted for any reason, such as poor image quality.

If your case meets any of these conditions, we will contact you and initiate the refund process within two business days. Please allow for additional time for your refund to show on your credit card statement.

Once we have accepted your second opinion case, received the necessary information to provide you with an accurate second opinion and read / interpreted your diagnostic imaging study, your case will not be eligible for a refund. If you would like a second opinion but have any questions or concerns, please call us toll-free at 877.938.2778 to discuss or email us at consult@nationalrad.com.
